Ok, so day one started out alright.  We were a little slow to begin and then we started picking up around 11:00.  But then our production came to a screeching halt as we faced major location issues.  Basically the property manager came by and gave us a very rude message telling us to leave immediately because we didn’t have an agreement with him to pay $2000 per day to shoot in Alameda.  So we had to call it a day early and calm down to regroup.  Some of us went to find alternate locations while some others attended a city hall meeting (specifically about disabled issues) and gave a presentation about our plight.  Apparently they were helpful enough to give us a lot of phone numbers to call.  So yeah, we have some good alternatives to Alameda, as well as some leads on perhaps getting back into Alameda and rubbing the permit in the property manager’s face.  The bottom line is that today was mostly a disaster, but we were able to come up with alternate plans to save the project.  They tried to strike Wheeler down, but he’s coming back stronger than ever.  He just might be a little behind schedule.
